Reading
Miriam: Finished through lesson 116 in The Ordinary Parent's Guide to Teaching Reading and did lesson 1 in Explode the Code Book 4. She read Thank you Amelia Bedelia and also the first chapter in Mr. Putter and Tabby Pour the Tea.
Rebekah: Did the letter P in her new book Get Set for the Code Book B. She did not want to blend letters this week, so we just reviewed individual letter sounds during her reading time.
Math
Miriam:Finished RightStart Math A and finished the subtraction section in Singapore 1A.
Rebekah: Finished the section on numbers 1-10 in Singapore Earlybird Math
Bible
We read about Jesus' death and resurrection this week.
Science
This week the children helped Rob plant more trees and flowers in the front yard. They also talked about growing things in their homeschool co-op Circle Time class. They planted seeds in pots they made in class too. We read the plant section in The Berenstain Bear's Big Book of Science and Nature. We also looked through Usborne's The World of Plants (the text was too advanced, but I was able to summarize and discuss some of the concepts with Miriam)
