Week 8
This week we concentrated on the basics. We didn't start school until Wednesday due to appointments on Monday and co-op and dance on Tuesday. Our library is a polling station and every time we've driven by there has been no parking left. We're saving our library trips until after the election is over! Until then we are just reading aloud from the many books we own and doing arts and crafts.
Reading
Miriam reviewed lessons in The Ordinary Parent's Guide to Teaching Reading and also completed lesson 56. Her fluency is really coming along-many words she no longer has to sound out at all! She also finished lesson 7 and most of lesson 8 in Explode the Code.
Math
Miriam completed lesson 7 and half of lesson 8 in Singapore Earlybird 2B. We spent a lot of time this week doing Rightstart math- Rebekah is still really enjoying participating with us. We completed all the way through lesson 12! They loved learning all about quadrilaterals.
Bible
We are still working on Psalm 23 for memory work- Miriam has through verse 4 memorized well.
We are still talking about the Israelites travelling to the Promised Land. This week we read about Joshua leading the people.
